Doni had friends all over the world. He created an invitation only chat room to introduce them to one another and to help make his individual friends into a community.
Because he so resonated with the books of author Cory Doctorow, Doni used the name of one of the key characters as his online name: Winston, or spelled in leet speak: W1n5t0n Doni's online friends made a memorial website for him: http://w1n5t0n.net/
