Boca Raton, FL Aneini Weekend October 2013 5774
Aneini (Aneini.org) is an organization that provides opportunities for Tefila (prayer), Teshuva (repentance/re-connection to Hashem) and Tzedakah (gifts to those in need) so that one may have access to a tried and true formula for annulling the negative decree. For Tefila they offer a weekly challah group that prays on behalf of individuals in dire need. For Tzedakah they have a Music 4-Healing Program where they give mp3 players loaded with Jewish music to sick children. For Teshuva they sponsor inspiring lectures, shabbatons and weekends. I was brought in to initiate the speaker's series and spoke 8 times in Boca Raton over a weekend. Below are the three recordings I made.

One to a large group of HS girls, one to a large group of women who didn't necessarily know one another, and one to a Peninim group of women who meet together regularly. For the first two groups, I was asked to speak about dealing with challenges, and to touch upon my son Doni's story and to relate it to Yom Kippur. The last group asked me to speak about tzniut.

Below is the talk I gave at the Mesorah High School for Girls Dessert Reception. It was hard to leave my home for this and hard to attend the reception as it was only 2 weeks after Doni's passing, but I felt strongly about the message and I pushed hard to go anyway. I was asked to share some of my personal journey as well as "Bringing Blessing Into Our Lives Through Our Three Mitzvot". The "three mitzvot" referred to here are: taking challah, going to the mikvah and lighting shabbos candles. It is a lot to share in an hour... so I took an hour and fifteen minutes, and still I had to skip thoughts. There is a lot of overlap, but if you are interested in the subject, it pays to listen to both as the tangents are very different and contain a lot of additional information.

Below are two versions of my daughter's shidduch story. "Becoming Extraordinary" in Portland was given to a small community kollel group, about 25 around a table and has more personal reflections. "Extraordinary Shidduch" in London was given as the keynote at the Bikkur Cholim d'Satmar's annual fundraising event and was given to a crowd of about 1000 women and so is more formal (and more gingerly worded).
