The Key to Learning Torah...
is your desire. "Ain davar ha-omed b'fney ha-ratzon" Nothing can stand in the way of desire.
I love learning and sharing Torah. For me, it is a fascinating, exhilarating, challenging journey. There is always something new, and always a new way to look at something familiar. The key pictured to the left is from an aron kodesh, a holy ark, in Lisbon. Imagine having to lock an ark to protect the Torah scrolls inside. Of course the lock is to protect against theft, not against a rightful owner. But for many Jews, the Torah remains locked away, and the wisdom and guidance therein becomes more enigmatic the longer the door stays closed.
The Torah belongs to all of us, it is our inheritance. Let's claim it!
Here are the keys: curiosity, guidance, perseverance, siyata d'shamaya (heavenly assistance). With it, we can gain access to the secrets that are waiting for us.
A Bite of Torah is offered to help us all on our journeys. Here I share classes, articles and resources... things I have learned on my journey, and I invite you to grow on your own. One bite at a time. May the Torah always be sweet in our mouths.
B'vracha,
Aliza Bulow
